Chocolate Chip Tea Cake
Ingredients:
- 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup (240 ml) milk
- 1 cup (175 g) chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8-inch or 9-inch cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serve with a cup of tea or coffee. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate for extra indulgence.
